Kayak camping on Jones Island for 2 nights
Fee per paddler – $23.00
Skill Level – SKII – SKIII (see the Wake website)
Depart Friday from North Beach on Orcas Island (so ferry reservation required – participate responsibility to make) explore the west side of Orcas as we make our way to Jones Island to set up camp. After camp is set up optional hiking around Jones. Carpooling required!
On Saturday we will visit and explore Yellow Island, a Nature Conservancy site at the height of spring flower bloom. Bring a camera.
After our visit we will depart Yellow and paddle over to the Wasp islands and explore which may include a stop at Deer Harbor for ice cream and/or pick up adult beverages to take back to camp.
On Sunday we depart Jones and make our way to a private marina to the east of the ferry dock on Orcas, our take out.
Friday will we plant one vehicle at the private marina which will be our shuttle vehicle on Sunday.
