Tri-Club Annual Picnic
This year it is WAKE’s turn to host the TriClub picnic, Saturday, September 30th, 2017. Two area kayak clubs, NSSKA and HITW, will be joining us as well as any local kayak/kayak gear vendors able to join us. We’ll gather in the usual place: Bowman Bay in Deception Pass State Park (a Discover Pass is needed for parking.)
Each year we plan a couple of paddles, and easy one, possibly to Biz Point, and a more advanced one, to Canoe Pass or Deception if the conditions allow. Tides, currents and weather will determine start times and locations.
In addition to guided paddles, we’ll have skill-building (and fun!) games, as well as potluck meal and a drawing for prizes.
Thus far, we have someone to shop for door prizes and another person to organize kayak games, but will need many more volunteers. Please consider contributing to the sea kayaking community by agreeing to be co-coordinator for this event, potluck organizer, MC for the drawing, one of several trip leaders (or safety boaters), or a set up or cleanup helper.
